OCR: Although the colours are a bit funny having been converted from HAM to 16 shades, these shots give a good idea of how silhouettes look. Most auto systems, if pointed at a scene with the background brighter than the foreground, will expose for the brighter areas resulting in a shot of this type. Silhouettes, when done intentionally, can be very effective Some cameras will try and correct for silhouettes by increasing exposure. If you want such an effect, lock the exposure for the background if you can. Other systems will switch on the flash, so manually switch it off.
